The BMR has designed a consumer neuroscience  membership model whereby businesses, academics and individuals with an interest in consumer neuroscience can form an exclusive research fraternity.  Two membership options are available:

Premium membership

The conditions and benefits for premium membership are as follows:

  • A quarterly consumer neuroscience newsletter reflecting on the newest developments in consumer neuroscience.
  • Registration is required but membership is free; and
  • Access to final research results in the form of a BMR report exclusive to members to utilize according to specific needs at a cost of R25 000 (VAT Excl.) per report

Exclusive membership

The conditions and benefits for exclusive membership are as follows:

  • R60 000 annual membership fee whereby members receive at least five reports providing access to final research results in the form of a BMR report exclusive to members to utilize according to specific needs;
  • Membership of the Behavioural and Communication Research Division at the BMR
  • Collectively deciding, with other syndicate members, on the nature, scope and topics/themes of the annual syndicate research projects;
  • BMR presentations on research findings;
  • An annual workshop; and
  • A quarterly consumer neuroscience newsletter reflecting on the newest developments in consumer neuroscience.

The exclusive membership will take the form of a syndicate whereby interested parties join efforts and funds to finance at least four consumer neuroscience research projects of interest to all members.   Depending on the nature and scope of research projects, an omnibus approach whereby the members’ portion of the research will remain their exclusive property, can also be considered.

The Laboratory is staffed by leading researchers and managed by Professor Pierre Joubert who introduced the first consumer neuroscience laboratory utilising the iMotions platform in South Africa in 2015/16.
